How to make an official looking talksprite

actualcannibalcalliope:

This is a talksprite tutorial, I will take you step by step on how I make my talksprites. I hope this helps. This goes into a lot of detail so it may be rather wordy.

If you have any questions or get stuck, just send me an ask and I’ll be glad to help.

Wow.

The human body is fascinating

I keep telling people this shit in real life and they don’t believe me.I’ve seen it from multiple sources, and this just adds another (albeit usually unreliable) source. This is actually legit, guys.  This is how your eyes move when you’re thinking about something.  It’s actually a good way to tell if someone is lying or not, because they’ll look to their left (your right, durr) when they’re constructing false memories, and to their right when they’re actually remembering them.

HOLY CRAP. SAVING THIS FOR FUTURE REF.

Digital Skin Painting Tips from Muddy Colors

Avoid simple gradients. You cannot obtain convincing skin if you only add black and white to a basic skin tone. It’s more complex than that.

Of course, all skins are different but you can try this :

      - A little bit of olive green on the shadow.

      - A little bit of blue under the eyes (lower lids).

      - A little bit of red on the cheek bones.

Just work with low opacity (0 - 5%), on a separeted layer and with the soft round brush.

So my friend Night expressed a general desire for help with profiles, and I figured I’d go ahead and whip this up! I’m no anatomy master or anything, but this is stuff that helps me quite a bit, so I figured I’d share… even if I have no idea how helpful it actually is. Writing tutorials is hard! Ah well, I hope it can be of some use.
